One of my daughters saw this short video on Facebook and sent it to me.
During this season of line pushing Black Friday’s and hectic Cyber Monday’s, a little three year old girl reminds us that not everything comes with big price tags or in large packages. Most times it’s the smallest things throughout the year that matter most; a hug, a visit, a letter.
A paperclip.
Priceless!

As an adult, you have to ask, “How did we all lose that kind of joy?”

We grew up and became jaded by things that aren’t as important. Thank God for kids.

How sweet is that! Reminds me of our granddaughter at that age. She got this tiny pumpkin at a farm and “brushed his teeth” when she brushed her own and took it to bed with her for several nights. 🙂

Thanks for sharing George- a great reminder. The simplest things can be the best and we tend to overlook them. I do think as we grow older we swing back to finding the beauty and wonder in the smaller things. Love in a box was a great comment 🙂

You’re right, Lisa. Age does have a tendency to slow us down and appreciate the simpler things in life.
Thank you.

I guess that’s the circle of life. When very little, even the smallest gesture looms large…when fairly old, we revisit the idea simplest gestures provide the most memorable reactions. Wonderful “gift” from your daughter George!

George, I was happy to see your G-Men take down the Cowboys once more. It has been a strange season indeed for Big Blue but all that matters is the “W’s” keep piling up before the snow does. As for the Eagles the Redskins OWN us. It was more than fitting Desean Jackson helped defeat us. The karma from when Chip Kelly ran him out of town (and LeSean McCoy) will take a long time to incense away.

Desean is looking to be back with you next year. Do they want him back?

I think the Eagles brass are far too egotistical to bring him back and thereby admit letting him leave was a mistake. This whole Jackson-back thing was started by the media. He needs a new deal. The Eagles may have the worst receiving corps in all the NFL. Natural it would be a story for writers – and even Jackson – to promote…but I don’t see it.

I loved this, George! It reminds us to be grateful for the simple things, the way children are. It may sound odd, but my very favorite Christmas with my kids was the one when my daughter was three, and my son almost one. I was sick that year and money was very tight, so we just bought them a couple of gifts. But they were so thrilled to get them and played happily with them next to the tree while I lay on the couch, nursing a cold. And it was wonderful!!!!

Funny how that works out. Sometimes the moments you think ruin everything actually make it the most memorable.
No colds this year, ok?😊

Luckily, I was fine this year. But honestly, I still remember how sweet that particular year was, even though I was sick!

Precious. Proof positive that it doesn’t have to be a car, a boat, or something really expensive to please someone. Just something they really want it, or appreciated because it came with love from someone we love. This was beautiful, George. :O)

Amen to that! Each year, I try to simplify a bit more for the season. No more “shoulds” and having a “perfect” Xmas. And my nights are so much happier . . .
