Friday’s Thought

“Books are mirrors: you only see in them what you already have inside you.”
― Carlos Ruiz Zafón, The Shadow of the Wind

When I first read this I wasn’t sure I believed it; but the more I thought about it, the more I understood that truth finds us in many different ways. Within ourselves and in others.

Too true. Two people can read the same book and come away from it with totally different ideas about it! That’s what makes life interesting, I think!
    Have a great week-end, George!

If you have read a book a few years ago and now, you read that same book again, your interpretation of it would most likely differ from your interpretation before…

Absolutely. I’ve read books when I was much younger and at a differnt point in my life and read them again when I was older and found the meaning and message was very different. It’s one if the reasons I love reading and words. With many books, the message seems to follow and grow with you through life.

Yes, every time I reread a book that I read during my childhood, it seems like that I have read an entirely different book. There are just too many things in many books that my past past wouldn’t be able to comprehend.
